Who It’s For:
If you’ve completed Introduction to Acting and would like to explore acting for film, this summer class is a great next step. Acting Core: On Camera gives students the chance to work on scenes in front of the camera and learn how acting for film differs from acting on stage. This class is designed to be supportive, hands-on, and approachable and designed for actors who are still new to the craft or have little to no on-camera experience.
What It’s About:
Led by MAS film instructor Emilio Rodriguez, this special summer session of Acting Core focuses on the fundamentals of on-camera acting in a relaxed and encouraging environment. You will rehearse and perform scenes on camera while learning practical tools that help actors feel more natural, grounded, and connected on screen. You’ll explore the differences between stage and film acting, including how subtle choices read on camera, how to stay present during takes, and how to work truthfully within the frame. Along the way, students will receive individualized feedback, guidance, and support as they continue developing their craft. No pressure to be perfect; this class is about learning by doing.
