Michigan Actors Studio was founded in 2009, with the intention to bring world class acting training to Michigan artists. It is currently managed by Director and co-founder Rachel Bellack and Director of Education Kate Peckham. Rachel and Kate are the leaders of a dynamic, diverse, and talented team of like-minded instructors who find great joy in empowering people to free their creativity and find their voice. 

People come to the Michigan Actors Studio for a lot of different reasons; some want to be professional actors, some are looking for something fun to do, some are looking to overcome shyness, or make friends or get more comfortable making presentations at work. We discovered that whatever their reason for being here, the transformation that happens to our students is powerful. They become part of a meaningful community and that coupled with the empowerment that comes from finding their voice gives them the support needed to make big changes in their lives.

Through providing quality training by world-class artists, we discovered that what we do provides that and so much more. During the pandemic, we gave up our bricks and mortar space and moved online. This helped us to stay connected and offer resources to our community. We’re thrilled to be back in person and we love our new location, just north of downtown Royal Oak. We feel very fortunate that our business has not only survived the challenges of the last several years, but also has continued to thrive. We are excited to welcome you to the studio.
